The upper part of the altar is made of rare bludovit, in which crystals of grossulars, also known as garnets, occur naturally. These garnets are finely crystallized in a calcite-wollastonite fabric, giving the monument a wonderful contrast and richness of texture. Garnets with their deep red color bring energy and vitality to the monument. The entire upper segment of the altar is thus a perfect example of the natural beauty and power of minerals that connect the physical and spiritual worlds.

The lower part of the altar is formed by a massive cube of indigo gabbronortite, a stone known for its fascinating blue-violet hue. This material also contains vitreous burgundy garnets which give the surface a deep and radiant effect as well as beautiful deep blue labradorite. These grenades, along with the grenades in the maze, create a unique synergy that amplifies the spiritual energy of the altar. The combination of two different types of garnets in one altar is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also symbolizes harmony and balance between different forces and elements.

Bludovit je specifický typ proměněné horniny zvané erlan, který je na této lokalitě charakteristický bílou, zelenou, tyrkysovou až modrou barvou s typickými vložkami granátů. Kromě zmíněných granátů obsahuje tato hornina také wollastonit, kalcit, diopsid, podružně pak vesuvian, titanit, křemen, klinozoisit (hlinitý epidot), prehnit nebo sericit. Erlany obecně patří do skupiny metamorfovaných hornin, které prošly vysokým stupněm přeměny za přítomnosti tlaku a teploty. Přítomnost granátů v bludovitu svědčí o specifických podmínkách, za kterých tato hornina vznikla. Lokalita Bludov u Šumperka na severní Moravě dala hornině jméno a činí ji nejen geologicky zajímavou, ale také esteticky atraktivní pro sběratele a milovníky minerálů.
