Museum conifer of the Dadoxylon centrum type

This specimen is of museum quality and is polished to a maximum shine. This is a polished cross-section of a fossilized trunk of a so-called "whole form" of a Protozoan conifer from the Podorušnohorská basin. Also referred to in the literature as the well-known "Araucarites". The period in which this conifer grew is called the Permocarbon, about 300 million years before the present. Thanks to the pressure of the overburden, the log was compressed and the inner cavity was then filled with crystal. Other parts of the wood are crystallized with chalcedony. On the first side, you can see small branches growing from the center of the trunk, having a light brown to red-pink color. The shape resembles clogs.
