Transverse section of a false stem of a tree fern of the genus Tempskya. The stem is composed of clusters of aerial roots, which can be observed in great detail on the specimen. The edges of the fern are lined with a white patina, in which the raw structure of intertwining aerial roots stands out in great detail. Upper Cretaceous age, approx. 65 million years.
